Most of us do not know that Our (Nations) Federal Mismanagement and inhumane treatment of our Wild Horses. Mustangs are ship off to slaughter in the hundreds and sometimes thousands every few months threw the US Boarders. People make money off of the {free (wild animal – mustang)} meat. The government often looks the other way, delays in legal and secretarial process and flat out abandons their very protection in many matters. The treatment from moment of Round- Up (&/or other capture methods) is often cruel, unnecessary and deadly to some wild mustangs and most all babies (trampled in stampede, separated from mother, heart over races, broken bones, dehydration, etc…).

If we are lucky they will not go extinct in our life time due to environmental threats and Political gains. Mankind is the Wild Horses worst Enemy,with old fashion round ups being the circus of all evil; a.k.a. unnecessary & costly, ruthless, lethal and inhumane with an ultimate end destination for our Mustangs.

Understanding the Cause, Literally they come in peace for water. If the government deems it necessary to continue to sell the meat for profit to Canada, Mexico & Europe. Just simply corral them gently, when they are drinking water. No need for helicopters(fuel, pilots, etc..) and stampedes (unnecessary scare, injuries and misc to our wild horses..). simply put- Round-up’s do exactly all that Bull$#*+ and more!

We have done our wild horse a dis-service in protesting slaughter in the USA, simply because our beloved Mustang still gets rounded up. And to add to insult, on our tax dollar. Majority are inhumanly treated on their capture, separation from natural band and journey way over the boarder. Worse the animal is sold buy the lb (so pregnant & new moms are more wanted) and over the boarder USA looses all control.

The care/maintenance, transportation, etc… of our wild horses is cruel at best.

Since Round -Ups are still happening and slaughter is inevitable for the Mustang. Than a cry for HUMANE SLAUGHTER STALLS are needed – there are none for horses; it takes 7 minutes on average for a horse to die because they are usually put in a cows stall; therefore the the anatomy and hit in the skull is not the same effect!), (Round- up’s are unnecessarily aggressive/abusive and costly; scares wildlife to death, ie stampede babies, broken legs, ones left behind, add insult to injury add pilot, gas and oil fees) (Wild Horses get shipped to Mexico & Canada (usually at night under the general public’s awareness) to where the USA can not get involved anymore (so boarders are key factors) and the treatment on the way is unspeakable and at arrival is ultimate death). It is free money for our government because they are simply cultivating the meat. The meat sells per pound, The Pregnant or mothers who just gave birth are the most sought after, etc. (it’s not even healthy meat sometimes: could have worms & much more, so our National Icons are disappearing, being brutalized and mostly goes to waste. And Majority of the voters agree to leave our Wild Horses alone.).

The slaughter process is far from humane, which remains some of the deepest touching outreach issues Wild Horse Advocates have.
