{As seen on this rescued Mustang symbols are tattooed on the Wild Horse’s neck = mean something. Example: per entity on rounded up mustangs. location, facility, gender, age, health, mentor, etc…
Wild Horse Advocates main mercy cry is not – the fact that the horses go to slaughter- as is the real concern is that the process is not humane:
The mustangs are mistreated at best, starved, dehydrated, separated from their families and the actual brutality at the slaughter house is the stall (if they are lucky) are not equipped for the anatomy/body of a horse (usually a cow), therefore the kill process is not secure and fast, leaving a traumatizing, painful and unjust death. [More specifically their head/scull shapes are different thus their brain is not in the same location as the cow. Hammers are still (as of April 2015 in Yakima, WA., after a round up) being used to kill foals (baby horses)]. }
